Toga Group and Eureka Funds Management are investing NZ$11M into the development which will transform the hotel into a fully refurbished 132 room hotel, making it one of the best 3.5 to 4 star hotels in Wellington.
The extensive refurbishment program will mean that the Hotel will close from 4 October 2008, and it is proposed that the new-look property will re-open in early 2009.
As part of the refurbishment, the rooms will be completely revamped; from light fittings to security cards and the inclusion of LCD televisions. The conference rooms will also be given a face lift, making Travelodge Wellington the ideal venue for small to medium sized conferences. The Hotel’s foyer will also be transformed, introducing a trendy café with an exciting selection of tasty treats to fill all appetites. The existing restaurant will also be renovated with fresh, modern décor.
In line with the revitalised Travelodge brand in both New Zealand and Australia, the style of Travelodge Wellington will be fresh and modern with an emphasis on delivering comfortable hotel accommodation complete with up-to-date technology.
According to Murray Blunden, Toga Hospitality’s Hotel Area Manager, New Zealand “The new-look Travelodge hotel will offer guests a fresh and modern accommodation choice in central Wellington. The friendly and efficient service of the Travelodge Wellington team makes this hotel a smart choice for value conscious business and leisure travellers.”
